LLMUX CAL Test System

The developed test system is used to Calibrate and test the Accuracy of LLMUX2 TC & RTD Boards.

Problem Statement

The Calibration and Accuracy test of the LLMUX2 boards was performed by using the existing console-based application. The customer found difficulty in monitoring, logging, and analyzing data for multiple boards.

Challenge

  • The LLMUX2 Boards have on-board controller which supports the 9 bit serial communication protocol.
  • The on-board controller can able to Receive the set of Commands and Send-back the Response. The command set contains 32-bit instruction, each bit will represent the different configuration/action.
  • The existing console application was developed by using the QBasic code.
  • While testing the boards software has to check for on-board fault/errors and the same should be log continuously, in case of critical faults testing should be terminated.
  • Continuous testing of Calibration and Accuracy for TC and RTD Boards without any failures.

Solution

  • LabVIEW based test Software to communicate with both TC and RTD boards using the Serial Communication.
  • The utility software has capable of Run the Calibration and Accuracy Test for the both TC & RTD FTAs.
  • The test data and test results are sequentially logged in MySQL Data Base.

Hardware Used

  • cDAQ to Read temperature from the Temperature Module.
  • Krohn-Hite for Apply the voltage source to the FTAs.
  • Acopian Power Supply to powering the FTA Boards.

Impact to Customer

  • The test software can test both TC and RTD boards automatically.
  • Data Logging and Error Logging has very helpful for customer to debug the fault/failed FTAs.
  • The 50% of production rate is increased.
