ACSB Tester
ACSB Tester is an ATE to validate Schneider ACSB Board which consists of 9 Step down transformers and check for their accuracy within ±0.05%.
Problem Statement
- Customer wanted an ATE to test each transformer for voltages from 50V to 690V and observe the UUT efficiency.
- A Bed of Nails(BON) fixture was required for placing the UUT and providing the connection points.
- 3 phase supply has to be given to 9 transformers with different combinations.
- Only a single source is there to test the 9 transformers. So, we have to switch the source with all 9 transformers

Challenge
- Each channel should have a provision for connecting the different loads(loads can sink from 3A to 200A).
- Single Software Architecture (LabVIEW Application) which can used to validate all the channels.
- Single test which will validate the path of all 25 channels with all different loads.
- There are no instruments to measure the current from 3A-200A.
Solution
- Each transformer reading from 50V to 690V should be within ±0.05% tolerance with the expected readings.
- Output voltage is very small compared to input. So, if we combinedly taken input and output wires it was influencing some noise which leads to tolerance out of the range.
- Customer have provided single instrument to source for all 9 transformers.
- We have to switch the measuring instrument (able to measure from 50V-690V with high precision) between all 9 transformers.
- BON should support for higher voltages with less voltage drop and should not induce any noise. It should also not have any contact issues.
Impact to Customer
With the development ACSB Tester, it is possible to test the ASB board and check for the accuracy of each transformer in a fast and accurate manner.
